Alice in Wonderland is an old time favorite by Lewis Carroll that has been recently rehashed to an exciting 3D movie that has opened on 5 March 2010. And why shouldn’t it be as popular now as it was when it was originally written, really this movie will be huge this year amongst the kids and the not so young. I don’t know one family that has not had this book sitting on the bookcase shelves from time to time. And the book that was so entertaining as you were growing up is just that little much more entertaining when you have the likes of Johnny Depp playing the lead.
The film has opened with the fanfare that a new release brings but the novel idea from Disney is to make the movie into a 3D and IMAX, as well as regular traditional format, and it is getting rave reviews from the recent people that have seen the movie. And they all say the same it was definitely well worth the wait. In the new movie by Disney, sweet Alice returns as a naive 19 year old teenager to the magical childhood adventure, and learns of her true fate is now is to end the Red Queen's reign of terror. Alice catches up with her old friends and companions and rejoins the fantasy world of mixture of people with real characters from the classic story book tale.
Like any other classics that have been released Carroll's book is said to have hidden meanings than what seen on the silver screen today. I love the fact that even after all of these years a saying from the book such as " I am late, I am late for a very important date" or wondered about what is down that rabbit hole, as you peered closer without falling in? The Cheshire cat’s smile is just another magical part of the movie that has the cat’s smile lingering on long after the cat has long gone.
There are things in the book that puzzle you like why does The Mad Hatter (and Johnny Depp) have so many hats? And why is the Cheshire cat pink, and what makes Alice follow that White Rabbit continually? Does anyone like coffee or lemonade in Wonderland? With the many unanswered questions that have lingered over the years they may be explained away in the visually stunning movie. With 3D is now very much in favour with technology buffs for both movies and TV. It won’t be long before you are able to buy the DVD of this new Alice in Wonderland in a few months and again marvel when you watch the full effect on 3D television.
With the release this year of Alice in Wonderland it is a great idea to do something different for a daughter's birthday or why not make a weekend of it and throw a themed sleep over party? Think of how the other kids would have a ball and your little one would be the talk of the school yard. As the characters are all so very different there is an outfit that would match anyone’s personality if you wanted to go to a party as the Alice in Wonderland crew. From gothic teenagers to tiny toddlers to even the sexier versions of Alice there are sure to find an outfit that you will get many years of wear out of. And when the costumes have been outgrown pop them away for use of either your children or grand children to play with when they come over.
